Time: 30 minutes
This song has such a deep soulful feel to it, that it made me think of the deep south in the US where the music is great and the food amazing…. Pairing them was an absolute must. These biscuits are very simple and very rustic… also very delicious to set your soul free. I like to mix all the dry ingredients the night before, so it really is fast to get ready in the morning. Enjoy.

Ingredients:
2 cups flour
4 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ tsp smoked paprika
1 Tbsp dried parsley
1 Tbsp dried basil
¼ tsp garlic powder
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (I used a double smoked cheddar, gouda also works well)
½ cup cold butter cubed
2 cups heavy cream
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425 deg F.
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, paprika, parsley, basil and garlic powder.
Cut in the cold butter into the flour, until it resembles coarse crumbs. Add in the cheese and blend well.
Add in the cream and mix, using your hands.

In a buttered cast iron skillet (12 inch), drop dough using an ice cream scoop. Drop the dough a few inches apart. I was able to make 9 biscuits.

Let bake for 15 – 18 minutes. ** Note – if you like your biscuits more perfectly formed, roll the dough out to about ¾ inch thick and use a round (3 inch) cutter to make round biscuits – you should make 8 biscuits.

Serve with butter and honey.
