Quick Swiss Cheese Beer Bread

Time: 75 minutes

This is a simple and delicious bread recipe that you will make time and time again…. I paired it with Nora En Pure… both are fabulous!

Music Selection: Nora En Pure – Grabunden

Ingredients:

4 oz swiss cheese, plus extra for topping (another oz)

3 cup flour

3 Tbsp sugar

3 tsp baking powder

1 ½ tsp salt

½ tsp pepper

12 oz (350 mL) ale or dark beer (at room temperature)

2 Tbsp butter, melted

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray a loaf pan with oil.

Grate ½ of the cheese, and the rest cut into little cubes.

In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and pepper.

Mix in the beer and fold until all of the flour is moist and forming a ball. Use your hands to knead it a bit. Then add in the grated and cubed cheese. Knead until the cheese is evenly in the bread.

Place bread in the loaf pan. Drizzle on the melted butter. Sprinkle on any extra grated swiss cheese. Bake for 55- 60 minutes.

Let cool for 10 minutes, remove from pan. Cool a few more minutes, then slice and eat with butter and a bowl of cream of broccoli cheese soup!
