Makes 24 tarts
Music Selection: Miranda Lambert – Mama’s Broken Heart
I just love this song… all the drama, intensity and passion of someone dealing with a break up. Personally, I think the best thing for a broken heart is to eat pecan pie tarts. You really can’t be sad, mad or vengeful while eating them. When I am making these, I pull out my great grandmother’s old hand nut chopper and actually crank a few pecans at a time. It just feels right to do it the old fashioned way. This chopper is about 100 years old and still works. It makes me smile to use it and to make these delicious treats. The final outcome will take you to a happy place…

Ingredients:
2 cups chopped pecans
½ cup brown sugar
¼ cup corn syrup
2 Tbsp melted butter
2 Tbsp rum (optional)
1 tsp vanilla
Pinch of salt
3 eggs
24 – 3 inch pre-made tart shells
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 deg F.
Chop up the pecans into small sizes. I use my great-grandma, Maria’s, old nut chopper – it is about 100 years old and still works. I love using it!
Mix all ingredients, except shells.
Line a baking sheet with foil and place tart shells evenly on top. Fill shells and bake for 20 – 23 minutes. Let cool. Enjoy. These can be topped with whipped cream, but ours get eaten too fast!

Every day I appreciate a very few interesting posts. This is the one of them. You deserve a gift from my end and “Mular Bora” dish is for you. Congratulations!
